Father Kino, Journey to Discovery: Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m. and Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 6:30 p.m. at The Church at Litchfield Park, 300 N. Old Litchfield Rd. in Litchfield Park, at Souers Hall.

Learn about this caring, charismatic, and multi-talented missionary who bridged the gap between European and Native American cultures in early Arizona. Between 1687 and 1711, he established 24 missions throughout northern Mexico and southern Arizona and laid the foundation for the beautiful San Xavier del Bac near Tucson. Presented by Dr. Barbara Jaquay, this free presentation is hosted by the Litchfield Park Historical Society and The Church at Litchfield Park. Centennial Celebration in Litchfield Park: Sunday, Nov. 3, from noon to 4 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Mission Church, southwest corner of Neolin Ave and Wigwam Blvd. in Litchfield Park.

Nov. 3 marks 100 years since the cornerstone at Thomas Mission Church was dedicated. This event will have historical and cultural exhibits, activities, and performances including Dia de los Muertos displays, dance performances by Ballet Folklorico Esperanza, stories, face painting, and crafts. People who attended this church are encouraged to bring their favorite photos and memories. This free event is hosted by the Litchfield Park Historical Society.
