The PebbleCreek Lady Nine Hole Golf Association will have three teams competing in the upcoming AWGA 2015 Nine Hole State Medallion Championship Tournament to be held at PebbleCreek on January 17. The teams will consist of Tina Stepzinski and Lynn Havens, Sharon Adamy and Diana Martell and Anna Schuchman and Pat Kaer. The Lady Niners are proud to be represented by these fine lady golfers. This is a prestigious event bringing together the low gross and low net representatives from Ladies nine hole clubs throughout the area to vie for the AWGA Medallion Championship.

Hole-In-One

Cheryl Brodbeck recently joined the list of Lady Niners to make that elusive hole-in-one. It was December 8 and this was Cheryl’s first hole-in-one. She was especially excited that she made it on Lady Niner league day and was able to share the event with all her Niner buddies following golf! Cheryl was on hole No. 12 on Eagle’s Nest and used a six iron on her drive. She didn’t see where the ball landed because there were shadows on the green. She and her foursome group looked all around and finally checked the hole. What a surprise it was to find her ball in the hole!

Lady Niners Support Millennium High Girls Golf

The Millennium High School girls golf team recently capped off a solid year with a second-place finish at the two-day, 36-hole Division I State Tournament at Aguila Golf Course in Laveen. The Lady Tigers have a great team and two of their members took honors in the State Tournament. Senior Emily Smith shot a two-day score of one under par to take fourth place. New Lady Tiger, Giulia Scotton, finished sixth overall with three over par. Millennium coach, Vicki Turrell, is very proud of the girls.

Just as proud of the Lady Tigers are the members of the PCL9GA. It has become a tradition to invite the Lady Tigers to join the PCL9GA ladies to golf in the annual charity event. This year’s charity will be the American Heart Association, with the event to be held on January 19. The Lady Niners support the Millennium Girls Golf program and will present the team with a donation of $1,000 to help offset their expenses and to encourage young women to continue their involvement with golf.

Chipping Clinic

The Lady Niners attended a Chipping Clinic provided by Dennis Downs, the Director of Instruction for the new Reid/West Golf Academy recently opened in PebbleCreek. Dennis provided several tips on technique and form for the one stroke that can make or break the chances of shooting Par! The Reid/West Academy is a great new tool for learning or fine tuning your game.
