Source Book™ delivery – Are you interested in helping?
Are you looking for a way to be of service to your community that will not require a lot of your time?
Kare Bears has a deal for you! We are in the process of recruiting residents to assist in the distribution of the 2015 Source Book. If you helped us in the past, you will be contacted to see if you are again available. If additional volunteers are needed, announcements will be on the PebbleCreek eGroup and the Kare Bears website.
The distribution of Source Books by the volunteers will take place on a Sunday in January or early February, 2015. That date is unknown at this time. Volunteers will be assigned where we need them in the community and they will have a week to deliver Source Books to all residents.

House hours change November 1
Please note that the Kare Bears House will be extending their hours effective November 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday. On Saturdays the hours will be from 9:00 a.m. until noon.
Please note that the house will be closed on Tuesday, November 11 for Veterans Day and also on Wednesday, November 12 because of the annual Fall Luncheon.

Holiday program December 17
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, December 17, 2014, to join in on the Kare Bears Monthly Meeting which will include a Holiday Program you will not want to miss! This special event will take place at the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom at 11:00 a.m.
Entertainment will include Emcee and Puppeteer Jerry Layne. Also the PebbleRock Band, Dance Fusion and the Tedettes will be performing.
Come on and join in on the holiday spirit with your fellow Creekers!
Annual Fall Luncheon – November 12
We look forward to seeing all you who bought tickets for the Kare Bears Annual Fall Luncheon, Autumn Blessings, being held on November 12, 2014. Remember the doors will open at 10:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m.!
Please remember to bring along cash and your checkbooks! We will have many raffle items as done in the past. In addition, this year we are having a Silent Auction which includes a few select items.
The highlight of the luncheon will be the presentation of the prestigious Founder’s Community Service Award honoring an outstanding PebbleCreek volunteer. There will also be Exceptional Service Awards given to a few dedicated Kare Bears volunteers along with a Friends of Kare Bears award to an individual or business who has performed a particular service for Kare Bears.
We look forward to seeing you at Tuscany Falls Ballroom on November 12!
Annual Support Campaign notice
Due to the generosity and overwhelming support of our residents, you have placed the Kare Bears organization in a good position to not have a formal Annual Support Campaign this year.
As many of you do during the year, you can continue to send donations to the Kare Bears House at 15383 W. Cheery Lynn Road, Goodyear, Arizona 85395.

Donations received in September
The Kare Bears Board of Directors wishes to acknowledge non-campaign donations received from the following residents: Jeanne Sorensen, Gerald and Belva Curttright, Frank and Jackie Abel, Golf and Lunch Society (GALS) and Gary and Linda Atkinson.
Memorial donations were received from Tom and Lorreta Morris in memory of Bridget Kaarstad and Stewart Arnold.

AARP Safe Driving Class
An AARP Safe driving Class will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the Sienna Room at Tuscany Falls for all PebbleCreek residents. Cost for AARP members is $15 and for nonmembers the cost is $20. Checks for the class should be made payable to AARP.
Safety techniques and driving principles will be explained in the class.
Some auto insurers do give a discount upon completion of the class, so please check with your insurance carrier. It is well worth the time and cost. A certificate of completion will be distributed at the end of the class.

Blood Drive November 15
As part of Kare Bears Health and Wellness effort, we are pleased to be offering a Blood Drive open to all residents on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Eagle’s Nest parking lot.
The signup sheet is at the Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse across from the Pro Shop. Appointments are scheduled every 15 minutes starting at 9:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Two appointments can be scheduled at the same time.
To streamline the process on November 15, United Blood Services asks that you register online by completing the Health History Questionnaire. The instructions, entitled Streamline your next donation: Complete your health history online, are with the signup sheet.
The United Blood Services Mobile Unit will be at the Eagle’s Nest parking lot near the Activities Center.
We encourage you to read the Did You Know fact sheet provided by United Blood Services. You can save three lives just by donating your blood and it will only take a half hour out of your day.
