Board position openings

Kare Bears is currently seeking volunteers to fill three board positions which will become vacant on June 30, 2015.

The positions that will be open are first Vice President (in charge of all Kare Bear Coordinators), Programs Director (Plans our monthly speaker meetings which are held January through June and September through October of each calendar year) and a Health and Wellness Director (responsible for annual Health Fair, flu shots, blood drives, etc.).

If you are looking for a way to meet people, become involved and make a difference in the lives of others, please consider one of these openings.

Kare Bears would like to invite you to hear Dr. Frederic H. Klopf, M.D., FACC of Cardiac Solutions. He will speak at the Kare Bears monthly meeting on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom at 11:00 a.m.

Dr. Fredric Klopf is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a cardiovascular disease subspecialty. He was the former Chief of Staff at Banner Boswell Medical Center and joined Cardiac Solutions in 2010. Prior to his current positions, Dr. Klopf practiced at the Arizona Heart Institute.

He is a graduate of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and completed his residency in internal medicine at Jewish Hospital of St. Louis in St. Louis, Missouri. He then completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.

In addition to Dr. Klopf’s medical practice, he has a background in medical research and has published several papers.

His topic will be When the Heart Begins to Fail – Management of Advanced Heart Disease. He will also present highlights of research he is currently conducting on patients with advanced Cardiomyopathy and/or heart failure.

He is a very big advocate for education of patients and also enjoys quite a bit of public speaking on Heart Diseases and prevention.

To celebrate Kare Bears 20th Anniversary, there will be a free raffle drawing at this meeting!
