Kare Bears Luncheon: An Affair to Remember – November 8

Linda Jo Orinski

Mark your calendar, as one of the most anticipated events for the fall season is taking place at our very own Tuscany Falls Ballroom on November 8. This event is honoring our amazing volunteers and donors of Kare Bears. The event shines a well-deserved spotlight on the hundreds of volunteers and other community supporters who make the year-round work of the Kare Bears organization possible.

As chair for this luncheon, I am very pleased to share with you some of the amazing raffle and auction items we will have this year. An array of consumables, art work, golf packages, a computer, spa packages, a hotel stay, restaurant gift cards and several very special auction items that will be worth all this excitement! The event begins at 10:30 a.m. giving you time to view and bid on the many raffle and silent auction items and also enjoy the cash bar. The ballroom doors open for seating at 11:00 a.m. followed by lunch and the awards program. This year we do have live musical entertainment and we promise this will be An Affair to Remember!

Assistance needed

Arlis Legler

Are you looking for a way to be of service to your community that will not require a lot of time?

Kare Bears has a deal for you.

We are in the process of recruiting residents to assist in the distribution of the 2018 PebbleCreek Source Book. If you helped us in the past, you will be contacted via separate email to see if you are available again this year.

Additional volunteers are definitely needed, especially in the newer units. If you would like to help, please send an email to Arlis Legler, [email protected] with your name and telephone number. We cannot guarantee that you will distribute source books in your immediate neighborhood.

The distribution of source books to our volunteers will take place on a Sunday in mid-January 2018. That date is unknown at this time. Volunteers will be assigned where we need them in the community and they will have a week to deliver source books to all residents. Updated information will be in the December PebbleCreek Post and in PebbleNews.

Thank you for August and September donations

Stu Burge

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, Kare Bears would cease to exist without the help of our extraordinary volunteers and tax-deductible donations from our PebbleCreek neighbors and friends.

During the months of August and September we gratefully received the following: General donations from Ann McKenna, Linda and Arthur Culbertson, Bill and Donna Duncan, Richard Whittier, Joan Suriano and Georgia Weinstein. Annual Luncheon donation from Golden Assist, LLC. Non-monetary donations from Anthony King, John Bonk, Dennis Seymour, Greg Davis and Marge Robinson.

The thoughtfulness of these residents and organizations will enable Kare Bears to carry on our Neighbors Helping Neighbors programs well  into the future.

Abrazo hospital tours

Janis Korba

Kare Bears has scheduled tours of Abrazo West Campus Hospital and Level One Trauma Center for the residents of PebbleCreek, which includes lunch in the board room with the CEO. In emergencies seconds count and we are fortunate to have this hospital within a few minutes’ driving time.

This month’s tour will be Thursday, November 16. The tour and lunch is available for the first 16 people that sign up. Please call the Kare Bears House  at 623-536-1200 to make a reservation. Your name must be on the list to attend. We will not have a tour in December. Our first tour for 2018 will be January 25.

We know you’ll enjoy this tour and lunch. The day of the tour we need to be in the lobby of the Main Entrance located at 13677 W. McDowell Road, just before 10:00 a.m.
