Italian – Americans return to Romano’s Bella Macaroni Grill

Jim Roberts

Just like a bad penny, they keep coming back. Only this time, they came with a little more than a penny-weight. Ken and Carolyn Minichiello hosted this wonderful evening of dining. Fifty-eight strong showed up and filled about a third of Romano’s Macaroni Grill restaurant. This was an amazing turnout considering the absence of the snowbirds. Seated in a separate area, the Italian-Americans started August off right with cocktails and dinner from the restaurant’s special two-course menu for this event.

It was nice to be back in the Macaroni Grill where General Manager Robb Webb greeted us warmly. Tonight was a very special night. PebbleCreek’s own dulcet-toned maker of melody, Bart Ventura, held forth by delivering a repertoire of numbers by the late, great Frank Sinatra. Bart entertained from 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. singing favorites like Come Fly with Me, Young at Heart, All of Me and New York, New York, to name just a few songs.

Our worthy leader, Ken Minichiello, thanked attendees for coming out tonight to show their support for our very own Italian-American Club member Bart Ventura. Ken also made a couple of announcements reminding everyone of space availability for the trips to Italy and Sicily in September 2018 as well as for the Tovrea Castle Tour this coming October.

Until the next time—arrivederci amici miei! (Goodbye, my friends)
