Holly Ball recap

Suzanne Rambach

If you didn’t go to the PebbleCreek Irish American Club’s Holly Ball on December 11, you really missed out. It was truly a spectacular and elegant ball! During the cocktail hour, the guests were entertained by the enchanting Mary Raunikar, a very talented harpist with a Bachelor’s degree in music and harp performance and a board-certified music therapist, while nibbling on delicious appetizers. Suzanne Rambach took photos of any guest wanting a photo of themselves all dolled up next to the gorgeous Christmas tree.

The tables were beautifully decorated, the whole room was magical. While the shamrock salad was being served and the wine began to pour, Mary played her harp for our dining pleasure. The dinner was served with style, some had the steak with whiskey sauce while others enjoyed the Irish roasted salmon, each served with roasted baby red potatoes and Amandine green beans. Both were delicious! Dinner was topped off with Bailey’s Irish Cream chocolate chip mousse. Yummy!

Things really started happening when the fun and talented Thaddeus Rose Trio began to play. The dance floor was hopping! During a break, raffle prizes and door prizes were awarded, which included a foursome for the PCIAC Charitable Golf Tournament on March 11 and two tickets to the PCIAC Emerald Ball on St. Patrick’s Day. Other prizes were gift certificates to local restaurants, gift baskets, Guinness gift sets, and other Irish themed delights. To their surprise, every guest went home with a gift bag and two hand etched wine glasses with a harp on them. So set your calendars for next year, the Holly Ball will sell out fast and you don’t want to be left out! A big thank you to Sue Davis and Trudy Chambers for chairing this event and their committee members Cheryl Baugh, Linda McKinney, Cheryl Kunkle, Suzanne Rambach, and Linn Smith. Set your calendars for our next Holly Ball on Saturday, December 8, 2018.
