HOA Committees recruiting volunteers for 2016

Making PebbleCreek run as smoothly as it does may seem like magic, but much of it is due to the efforts of volunteers and the six Homeowners Association committees on which they serve. Fall is the time of year when PebbleCreek residents have the opportunity to indicate their desires to bestow their magical talents upon the committees that intrigue them.

“Is there an area that you are passionate about or one that you would like to learn more about?” asks Gregg Clymer, HOA vice president. “Either way, when serving on an HOA committee you get a much better appreciation about the relationship between the committee and our professional managers.”

Volunteers have until November 15 to begin the process by indicating the committee(s) that interest them, by writing down their preferences in an HOA binder located on the table in the hall across from the Eagle’s Nest golf Pro Shop. In addition, online forms are posted on the password-protected (Homeowner Login) side of the HOA website, www.pebblecreekhoa.org under PC Info/Forms. On that webpage listed under HOA Forms is a Committee Sign-up Sheet for 2016. Between now and December, applicants are contacted and interviewed in preparation for those appointed to begin serving January 1, 2016.

Below is a summary description of each committee. More detail, including meeting times, is posted on the password-protected side of the HOA website under Governance/Committees. Also posted is contact info for each committee chair who would welcome inquiries from curious, potential volunteers (aka magicians).

Architectural and Landscape

The ALC assures that the visual character of PebbleCreek remains consistent with the community plan while allowing harmonious individual expression in landscaping and property decoration. The ALC is concerned with any part of a homeowner’s property, from the skin of the house to the property line. That includes the landscaping, exterior house painting and decoration, yard decoration and plants. Chair: Gregg Clymer

Creative Arts

The Creative Arts Committee sets policy and overall direction for PebbleCreek’s creative arts resources, including the Creative Arts Center, operated by the creative arts manager. Committee members — consisting of art club presidents, as well as at-large members – also oversee the group of volunteers who produce the annual Creative Arts Festival. Chair: Sherri VanSchaick

Golf

The Golf Committee provides oversight and guidance for all things related to golf in PebbleCreek. The directors of golf and of maintenance, the financial operations manager and the general manager typically attend meetings to provide information as well as answer questions about golf operations. Regular topics of discussion include golf financials, rounds played, golf course conditions and maintenance practices. Chair: Lyman Gallup

Rules Compliance

The RCC maintains a master set of the PCHOA Rules and distributes it to homeowners, Robson Communities Inc. and sales management, upon approval by the HOA Board. It also considers and recommends rules revisions to the board. Additionally, it assists the board to ensure compliance by all residents, board-approved clubs, employees and visitors to PebbleCreek. Chair: John Dale

Strategic Planning: The SPC members use their various business experiences, training and education to study and understand PebbleCreek operations. The SPC is responsible for providing due-diligence studies, before proposing recommendations to the HOA Board, relative to long-term sustainability and community enhancements. Chair: Sherry Gonzales

Unit Representatives: The Unit Representatives Committee provides a cohesive union between PebbleCreek’s governing board and homeowners. Unit representatives regularly provide accurate, timely information — regarding policies, procedures and social events — to the homeowners residing in their designated units. Co-chairs: Janet Miazga and Bob Young.
