Hikers enjoy an unusually warm January day

Pete Williams

On January 31, ten hikers from the PebbleCreek Hiking Club took advantage of the great weather to do a hike on the Pass Mountain Trail in Usery Mountain Park. Hikers that day included Lynn Warren, Kay Thomas, Wayne McKinney, Herb Hodes, Mary Hill, Dennis Zigmunt, Pete Williams, Ruth Bindler, Dana Thomas and Clare Bangs. The Pass Mountain loop offers views of a dense Saguaro forest, the fountain in Fountain Hills (if your timing is right), great views of the Goldfield Mountains, and views of unusual rock formations. The club now does hikes six days a week (Monday-Saturday) with something for almost everyone. Our three hike levels are D (4-5 miles), C (6-8 miles), and B (9+ miles). The club meets on the third Thursday of each month (September-April) at 7:00 p.m., usually in the Tuscany Falls Ballroom. Check out our website pchikers.org for more photos and information.
