And how did you celebrate your 60th birthday? Kris Raczkiewicz, new to PebbleCreek and the Hiking Club since October, celebrated her 60th on a 12-mile hike with nine fellow “B” and “C” hikers on May 25. In addition to this big life event, just a few days earlier, she also reached a significant hiking club milestone and set a club record for the shortest time to 1,000 miles. A goal-driven snowbird from Wisconsin, Kris was forced to exercise patience for a couple of months since she was 22 miles short of the milestone in March, just as everything shut down for COVID-19. She is a tireless hiker and has been racking up the miles, frequently hiking six days a week as she targets club “Rookie of the Year” honors; check back next year as Kris likely will be setting new records. Visit the club’s website at pchikers.org for updates and pictures.
