Gun Club adds two range safety officers

The PebbleCreek Gun Club is pleased to announce that Jim Belina and Gary Long have successfully completed the National Rifle Association (NRA) Range Safety Officer (RSO) training course.

The NRA Range Safety Officer program was developed in response to the demand for a nationally recognized range safety officer certification. NRA Range Safety Officers are people who possess the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, conducting and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.

The PebbleCreek Gun Club now has seven experienced shooters trained and certified as Range Safety Officers: Jim Belina, Dan Borchers, Bill Casey, Tim Hamilton, Gary Long, Boyd Mikesell and Curt Winston. Every PebbleCreek Gun Club event has at least one RSO in attendance to ensure that shooters follow range regulations in order to reduce the potential for personal injury and property damage. RSOs have the responsibility to take immediate action when circumstances require it. Having a certified RSO at club events helps create a safe, fun and supportive atmosphere for all participants.

The next PebbleCreek Gun Club meeting will be held Monday, September 11 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chianti Room, Tuscany Falls Clubhouse. Dan Todd, owner of AZ Firearms, will be the guest speaker. Dan has been in the gun business most of his life and has a passion for, and an extensive knowledge of, firearms of all makes and eras. AZ Firearms, founded in 2003, is a full-service gun shop in Avondale which includes in-house gunsmithing and repairs. Dan says his favorite firearm is “all of them!” and he encourages you to bring any and all questions you might have about the guns you own. Be sure to bring just your questions – and not your guns (as guns are not allowed in the clubhouse)!
