General Manager’s Report

October is upon us and everywhere I look, I see activity! I believe the number of activities and offerings in PebbleCreek truly make this a special place to live. Concerts, club meetings, sporting events, card games, bus trips, special restaurant dinners, creative arts and so much more. One of the amenities I’d like to share a little more about this month is our Activities Office. Under the direction of Traci Baker, Director of Community Activities and Communications, the Activities Office plans a variety of entertaining programs and events to enhance your enjoyment of the active PebbleCreek lifestyle.

Other than the many concerts and shows in the Renaissance Theater, day trip excursions are among the most popular items offered by the Activities team. These trips are usually by motor coach to shopping areas, sporting events, theater events and local sight-seeing. These trips are popular, because they give you the chance to get a group of friends together and visit local venues while leaving the driving up to us! I think the annual trek to the Diamondbacks on Opening Day is one of my favorites. If travelling longer than a day and visiting new locations is your thing, there are extended sight-seeing trips to out-of-town locations as well, a great way to travel with your friends and neighbors to explore our state, country and even the world!

As for concerts and more traditional entertainment options, they definitely have you covered there, too. Bringing premier concerts like the upcoming Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone, and the Oak Ridge Boys who visited us a few years ago, the Renaissance Theater is the place to be for shows. There are also many tribute bands paying homage to your favorites from ABBA and The Everly Brothers to Alabama and Chicago…definitely something to match everyone’s taste. The Artist Series subscription offers six shows over three months, with musical acts, comedians and variety performers all at a great price, and Cinema Society is another incredible subscription program giving you the opportunity to view small, independent or art-house style films once a month November through April — entertainment you just don’t get at the local Harkins Theater.

If you have not visited them already, the Activities Office is located in Eagle’s Nest at the four-way stop just before the clubhouse. This is where you can purchase tickets in-person for events, make room reservations for your club or group, purchase Armed Forces Plaza pavers, and sign-up for trips and tours. They also have DVD movies and books on CD for rent. If you have any questions about an upcoming trip or concert, renting a room or more, you can always stop by (year-round) Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or reach them by phone at 623-535-9854.

I firmly believe that staying active keeps our hearts and minds alive and bright – and with that in mind, then we surely have the brightest here in PebbleCreek. My message today did not even touch on the sporting clubs, like Pickleball, Tennis, Bocce and Softball, all the golf offerings, Creative Arts, LifeLong Learning, the 100+ clubs, recreational activities, like Wii Bowling and Pub Quiz nights, exercise and fitness classes, the list goes on and on…. If you are bored in PebbleCreek, then you definitely haven’t visited the Activities Office yet…or discovered any of the huge array of other offerings to be enjoyed in this beautiful Community. I encourage you to get out, discover and enjoy all PebbleCreek has to offer, you have earned it!
