Expressions Gallery – Spring Into April

Sherry Blatner

It’s been spring for the last 11 days so it’s time to lighten the colors of your life. Think pastels and bright white, pink, yellow and green. Add shimmer and you’re bound to gaze upon a wonderful array of glass sun catchers dangling in the middle of the Gallery. These wonderful and colorful glass ornaments will brighten any room of your home when left to dangle beside your windows. They come in many sizes and colors and will fascinate you anew every hour of the day. They are also a spectacular gift item.

April 17 is the official end to this year’s tax season, hallelujah! Be sure to spend your refunds locally, right here in the Expressions Gallery. We have an ever-changing display of hand crafted items for your enjoyment. Select a new wardrobe for the American Girl in your family, including newly knit sweaters for those chilly evenings. For the adult girl in the family, choose from shawls and scarves for every occasion. The jewelry choices are equal to those found in all the street festivals held around town: metal, African beads, ceramic, glass and stone – you’re sure to be dazzled.

Take a stroll in the Creative Arts Center and enjoy the displays in the club showcase windows. At the far end of the building, stop and appreciate the window display by the members of Knimble Kneedles; a group of dedicated knit and crochet artisans whose craft sales are used 100% to support local charities, including several hospitals and Luke Air Force families. The window always includes a baby doll in an adorable sweater and hat, as well as baby afghans and other unique items.

Back in the Gallery, stop and admire the new display case for the glass nightlights created by your talented neighbors. The wooden case, donated by a Creeker, is ablaze with charming lights for every home.

A new purchase, and especially a surprise for someone special in your life, is sure to put a spring into your life.
