The March 6 meeting of the PebbleCreek Democratic Club featured Micaela Cheatham from Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona, whose thorough and energetic presentation excited the volunteer hearts of all the attendees. Habitat for Humanity has a variety of ways for PebbleCreek residents to support the good, local work the organization is doing, including donating to the Restores, volunteering in the offices and helping to build houses! No experience necessary.

In addition, club member Dwight Moore discussed some of the issues involved with pending legislation on the Right to Die with Dignity.

Our last speaker was Michelle Harris, Vice Chair of the Board of Legislative District 13, who brought us up to date on the legislation pending before our State House and Senate and how we can, from the comfort of our homes, express our opinions on bills still being considered by our representatives through Request to Speak.

Members dressed in 1960s garb were there to promote the April 6 social, Blast Back to the Past. Other upcoming events include monthly Mexican Train nights, every Saturday breakfasts, the monthly women’s luncheon and men’s breakfast and the Temecula Valley Cable Car Wine Tour.

On Sunday, March 10, the PebbleCreek Democratic Club hosted its seventh Newcomers Welcome Gathering at the lovely home of Patti and Joe McEnerney. Eight of our newcomers were able to join about 12 members of the Executive Board and the Social Committee for wine and appetizers. The weather was so beautiful that the party quickly moved from inside the house to the McEnerney’s very large patio which had seating for all. Our newcomers have commented that this is a great way for them to meet other members and have a familiar face to talk to at our other events.
