Bocce News

Carolyn Rota, Public Relations

Due to COVID-19 concerns and the weather, the bocce winter session returned on Feb. 2 with many new players, new teams, and a new outlook that 2021 will bring us the best of health and a somewhat new normalcy. This session will end on March 26. If you’re interested in signing up for the spring session, registration will open on March 1 and will end on March 24. Register on Quickscores (link below). The spring session will start on April 6 and end on May 28.

Since we can’t do anything about the weather, we can help with containing the virus by following the CDC and HOA instructions. Masks are mandatory at all times and must be worn correctly covering your mouth and nose. If you have no mask, you will be asked to leave the courts, as we are not supplying any. Some of our sanitary precautions have been enhanced. The latest updates and current precautions the PebbleCreek Bocce Ball Association must take, and that the HOA requires, so we can have a winter session as successful as the fall session, can be found on the Quickscores site.

Since this time of year our weather can be unpredictable, please check QuickScores for court closures. Please keep in mind, if after a rainstorm, you see bubbles forming under the courts’ rugs do not play on them; it will do damage.

If you have any questions or need help with QuickScores, please contact the bocce president, Tom Bose, at 623-398-8675.

Finally, wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2021 and a Happy Paddy’s Day.

Remember: Wash your hands often, wear a mask when necessary, keep social distancing, and if you are feeling ill, see a doctor and follow their orders.
