Bocce Ball makes sizeable donation to Soldier’s Best Friend

Carolyn Rota, Public Relations

Last month, the PC Bocce Ball Association was very proud to make a sizeable donation to the charity, Soldier’s Best Friend. But the story doesn’t stop there. Because of the size of the donation we were honored to have two members of the PC Gun Club, Dan Borchers and Mitch Counce, participate in the SBF Clay Shoot Tournament representing the PC Bocce Association. Even though they didn’t win any prizes, they said they had a wonderful time and met some great people. But the best part is with our donation and the Clay Shoot tournament, Soldiers Best Friend raised almost $30,000. That will certainly help in teaming up two lives, an honored soldier and a rescued pup, both in need of help and love. To express their appreciation PC Bocce was sent a lovely Certificate of Appreciation which is showcased at the bocce courts.

The 2018/2019 PebbleCreek Bocce Ball season ended on Friday May 17, 2019. The winners of the Spring Day and Night Leagues will be announced in the July PC Post issue.

Before we say adieu for the summer, on May 1, 2019 our Bocce family lost a good friend and mentor, Roger Milewski, a member of the winter Tuesday night team, Rogers’ Rockets. Roger was always available to help, teach and to take photos for the Bocce Association at all of our special events. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to his wife, Muriel and family.

The calendar for the 2019/2020 league sessions is available at the clubhouses, the PC Post and online at the PC website.

Wishing all of you the best of health and the safest of travel during the summer months. See you in the fall.

Stay cool,

Your PC Bocce Ball Board.
