The best kept secret in PebbleCreek

Rayma Scalzo

What’s our community’s best kept secret? It is the Directory of Services, previously called the Resource Guide. The name has been changed because some residents think it is the same as the Robson Community Source Book™. This directory is very different.

Some residents think the resources are just for the sick or elderly. This is another misperception. The directory is for every resident in PebbleCreek.

You might ask, “What the heck is in it and why would I want to use it?” The answer is simple.

The Directory of Services is different from any resource list in the valley. First, it includes services provided by residents of our PebbleCreek community such as home maintenance, home watch, seamstresses, transportation (airport and elsewhere), pet care services, etc.

Secondly, it has a list of mobile services such as house calls by doctors and dentists, salon services, massages, dry cleaning and more.

The third area of interest includes helpful outside community resources. Some of the services include attorneys, financial advisors, government agencies, hospitals, urgent care facilities, laboratories, pick-up and delivery of goods, rehabilitation, physical therapy and senior housing.

In addition, for those having certain diseases, the Directory guides you to many services on the Internet. There are resources such as webinars, newsletters, support programs and products. The list goes on and on. Don’t forget, the most important information is pertaining to all the many services Kare Bears provides.

Have we piqued your interest?

It seems like every day residents on the PebbleCreek e-group ask for a service for this or that. Most answers are in the Directory of Services – right at your fingertips. To view it, all you need do is go to your computer, type in www.karebears.org and click on Directory of Services. Then, scroll down and click on the orange box for the directory. If you prefer to read a hard copy, print it from there. It’s that easy.

There are also copies for viewing at both PebbleCreek libraries. At Tuscany Falls, the red binder is in the middle of the library on the small table, and at Eagle’s Nest the red binder is just to the right as you enter. Keep in mind, however, that the most up-to-date listing is always going to be on the Kare Bears website.

PLEASE NOTE: If you already have a hard copy of the Resource Guide (now referred to as the Directory of Services), it is still good if dated in late September. Only small changes have been made since then.

Disclaimer: This directory is maintained by Kare Bears. The inclusion of an organization does not imply an endorsement of the organization or service, nor does exclusion imply disapproval. Under no circumstances shall Kare Bears be liable for anything that may result in any way from your use of the information included in this directory.

So, the secret is out. Use it and spread the word.
