Sherri Vanschaik was asked to be a judge for the Buckeye Elementary School District’s third annual All District Art Show which was held on May 7. The show featured hundreds of pieces of students’ work from grades K through 8. Part of the mission of the West Valley Art Council is to connect budding artists with professional artists to continue to stimulate their interest in the Arts and to increase their college and career connections for the future. The PebbleCreek Art Club has provided two judges in the past two years. Hooray for our club and their willingness to volunteer their time and talents to such a worthy cause.
Meet the Artists – Huge Success
The Art Club’s third annual show was a huge success with well over 250 people attending. We were also pleased to sell eight paintings. The painting selected for Best of Show went to Elizabeth McCarthy with her beautiful pastel painting. Congratulations to both Sherri Vanschaik and Sharon Adamy for second and third place.
Surprise Arts and Cultural Advisory Commission
Three of our Art Club artists were selected to show their art at the Surprise City Hall Art Exhibit. Regena Bacon, Louis Stifter and Sheril Symonds will be displaying their art through June 30, 2014, located at the City Hall, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza, Surprise, Arizona 85374. The hours are 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Check it out!
