April Showers of Gifts at the Expressions Gallery and Gift Shop

Sherry Blatner

Now that we are in the most taxing of months, take a deep breath, and stroll into the Expressions Gallery. You deserve something special this month.

Happy holidays to everyone. Passover begins at sundown on the 8th and Easter is on the 12th.

Your selections this month include eye-popping 3-D imagery created out of paper and enhanced with any type of embellishment you can imagine. Truly unique, these wall hangings are suspended in shadow boxes and must be seen to be believed. These creations are by a new Creeker who learned the process in Florida and brought the exciting craft west with her. My favorite was the carousel replete with incredible layering of small, colorful paper cutouts and enhanced with floral arrangements and gems. Patience is the key for this craft; an intricate work may take up to 40 hours to complete.

Young girls will be delighted with the choices of outfits for their American Girl dolls. There is also a growing collection of children’s books available for sale. Ladies always enjoy new bling and guys enjoy paying for all of it!

Redecorating one’s home is a favorite pastime in spring. Refresh your look with a new piece of colorful glass. Choose from platters, dishes, and bowls, all with a myriad of uses. Wall hangings are the perfect way to create a personal statement. Just outside the gallery are two racks of prints and drawings for you to peruse and purchase! Inside are displays of oil, acrylic, mixed media, and pencil drawings for you to refresh your look. Just like a museum, change your personal showcase seasonally and enjoy the pleasure of a new arrangement.

Don’t forget to wander the halls of the entire Creative Arts Center. Many of the large showcase windows outside the studios offer items for sale through the gallery. Staff will be pleased to help with your purchases.

Expressions Gallery and Gift Shop inside the Creative Arts Center, Tuscany Falls, South of Toscana’s Restaurant. Open Monday-Saturday 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and closed for lunch 12:30-1 p.m.
