Weather played a key role in the outcome of this year’s PebbleCreek Men’s Golf Association Member-Member golf championship. The annual event was played over three days, March 11, 12 and 19, utilizing both Eagle’s Nest and Tuscany Falls courses. Early rains on the final day forced a cart path only rule and persistent rains caused a change of formats from a two man net aggregate to a one best ball net. Cancellation of the final round was an option, but the format change made playing the final round more viable.
A total of 112 two man teams competed in six flights. Flights 1, 3 and 5 played the Eagle’s Nest/Tuscany Falls/Eagle’s Nest rotation. Flights 2, 4 ‘and 6 played the Tuscany Falls/Eagle’s Nest/Tuscany Falls rotation. A scramble was the format for round one. One best ball net was the format for round two.
A delicious lunch was served in the Tuscany Ballroom after play on the final day. The annual PCMGA member meeting was then held to discuss pending issues. The membership voted to eliminate the Match Play tournament due to low participation over the years. Officers for the 2015-2016 season were elected. Congratulations to Jerry Treece (President), Jerry Monk (Vice President), Bud Held (Secretary) and Paul Metivier (Treasurer). They take office on June 1.
