Get your folk on for this year’s Folk Festival which will take place on November 1 on the patio and lawn areas at the Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse. The music will begin at 4:00 p.m. and food and bar service will start at 3:00 p.m.

The Desert Rovers are again bringing this event to PebbleCreek. The group is made up of Holly Carrier on 12-string guitar, Mike Caswell on mandolin, Carl Halladay on bass, Jim Peaper on guitar and Dave Silverstein on banjo.

Joining The Desert Rovers will be members of the former Folk Revival, Jeff Harrison, Joe Armbruster and John Flynn. Jeff is now a part of the well-known Arizona Trio which performed here in June; Joe was the winner of the 2015 PebbleCreek Has Talent competition and you will remember John from many performances by Folk Revival. These performers promise a good selection of the wonderful folk music of the ‘60s and ‘70s that we knew during our salad days.

There is no charge for this event. Just come and enjoy the music. This will, however, present another opportunity for residents to contribute voluntarily to the project to expand the backstage area of the Renaissance Theatre, a major undertaking to be accomplished during the summer and fall of 2016. At the same time, theater improvements to the audience area will also be done.

Patio seating is limited, so bring your lawn chairs or blankets.

Food and Beverage will offer hot dogs, hamburgers and pulled pork from their food cart from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The Eagle’s Nest Lounge will also open up at 3:00 p.m. for pre-show libations and will remain open throughout the concert. Prices for the food will be from $5 to $7. Please plan to purchase your food with cash, due to the difficulty of processing credit cards at the food cart.

The Desert Rovers, Joe, Jeff and John are proud to be a part of this effort and they hope that PebbleCreekers support the Folk Festival as they have in the past as well as contribute to the backstage enlargement.

Come on over and kick back and sing along with the music we all grew up with and remember so well!
